01 The brief
A brewery site has a structural problem most hospitality sites do not: the core content changes every week. A tap list that is three weeks stale is worse than no tap list, because it sends people to the bar for a beer that ran out.
It also has to serve two audiences at once — people deciding whether to come for the evening, and people who want to know what is pouring right now.
02 The approach
Green and cream, not another brown
A deep green ground, #1e5a4f, with warm cream type. Craft beer has settled into a uniform of kraft-paper brown and blackletter; stepping out of it is most of the differentiation.
Typography with a bar-sign accent
Alfa Slab One and Bebas Neue give the headings the feel of painted signage and pump clips, with Work Sans keeping the running text plain. The character sits in the display faces, so nothing reads as costume.
The board is the first thing you see
What is pouring is the top of the page, structured so it can be updated in a couple of minutes without touching layout — which is what makes it likely to actually stay current.
Every build on this page uses a different type stack and a different ground colour, chosen for that business. That is what “never templated” means in practice — it is checkable, not a claim.

03 The result
- A brewery site with a distinct identity in a category that mostly looks the same.
- The weekly-changing content is the easiest thing on the site to edit, which is the only reason it stays accurate.
- One page serving both audiences: what is on now, and whether to make an evening of it.
