Fitness & wellness

Website design for gyms and yoga studios.

A strength gym and a yoga studio bring opposite briefs to the same desk. The gym needs weight — hard edges, heavy type, plain facts about the kit and the coaching. The studio needs calm — warm ground, room to breathe, nothing shouting.

What they share is the visitor. Someone on a phone, deciding whether to walk in, wants three answers before they will: what it costs, when it runs, and whether they will fit in. Both sites have to answer all three above the fold — with the prices on the page, not behind a login.

Forge and Terra are concept builds — businesses we invented and built properly, to the exact standard a paying client would get. Both are live; click through and judge them.

First-class content

The timetable is the website.

Most studio sites treat the timetable and the price list as chores. They are the two things nearly every visitor came for.

The usual treatment is a PDF, a screenshot, or an iframe from the booking system, four taps and a login away. We set both as real text in the main flow: a timetable that reflows on a phone, reads aloud through a screen reader, and gets indexed by Google — so a search for a beginners’ class on a Tuesday evening can land on the class itself. Prices sit beside the classes they belong to, with the intro offer where a first-timer will actually find it.

It also has to be easy to change. A timetable that has drifted from reality is worse than none — it sends someone to a class that moved. We structure yours so a change takes minutes, which is the only reason it stays accurate.

This is also where category templates fail. A wellness template flattens every studio into the same three stock photographs and the word “journey”; franchise gyms have colonised the look of intensity, so a template gym site reads as a chain. A bespoke build starts from your room instead — ground colour, type and structure chosen for the place — which is what makes Terra read as somewhere specific and Forge read as a particular training floor rather than a franchise.

Where you’d land

What each tier fits.

01

Starter

£750

A single sharp page: the timetable, the prices, the coaches, how to find the door, and an enquiry form. Live in about a week. Right for a one-room studio that fills from word of mouth and needs its answers findable.

02

Standard

£1,500

Up to six pages, so each programme or class style gets a page of its own, with bespoke imagery and the local SEO groundwork that puts you on the map. Right for a gym with more than one thing to say.

03

Premium

£2,500+

Online booking built in: pick a class, capacity is checked live, and a full class shows as full instead of overbooking. Plus a blog for the programme notes, and the advanced SEO to match.

Booking on the Premium tier is real, not a callback form — our Caldwell & Sons concept build runs the same module live, so you can try it before you spend anything. Both numbers — the build fee and the monthly care plan — are on the pricing section, fixed in writing before we start.

Questions

What gym and studio owners ask

Something else on your mind? Just ask us — we reply within a working day.

Can members book classes online? +

Yes, on the Premium tier. Booking runs against real capacity — a full class shows as full and refuses politely, rather than quietly collecting names into an inbox. Our Caldwell & Sons concept build runs the same booking module live, so you can try it before you spend anything. On Starter and Standard we link out to whichever booking system you already use.

Can I edit the timetable myself? +

Either way suits us. Timetable changes count as the small edits every care plan already covers — email us the new times and we make the change. If you would rather do it yourself, a Premium build can include a simple owner’s admin, the kind our Willow & Oak and Caldwell & Sons concept builds already run live.

Do you write the copy? +

Yes — the words and the structure are part of every build. You talk about the studio, the classes and the people; we draft the copy and you correct the facts. If you already have words you like, we edit rather than start again.

Will it work on a phone? +

It is built for the phone first, because that is where the deciding happens — someone checking tomorrow morning’s class while the kettle boils. The timetable, the prices and the directions all work one-handed on a small screen, and the page loads in under a second on mobile data.
