A studio site that had to feel like the room feels — unhurried, warm, and clear about what a class costs.

01 The brief

Wellness is a category drowning in the same three stock photographs and the word "journey". The businesses are lovely; the websites are interchangeable.

The other problem is practical. Someone deciding whether to try a class needs three facts — what it costs, when it runs, and whether they will be out of their depth — and those facts are usually buried behind a booking system.

02 The approach

01

Light ground, low contrast, room to breathe

Built on warm cream, #f4eee3, with generous spacing and nothing shouting. The whole page is tuned to feel like the studio it represents rather than a fitness product.

02

Two typefaces, both calm

Spectral for headings — a serif with warmth rather than authority — and DM Sans for everything else. A deliberately small system, because a calm brand cannot survive five competing voices.

03

Prices on the page, not behind a login

Class pricing sits in the main flow where a first-timer can find it without committing to anything. Removing that friction is worth more than any amount of atmospheric copy.

The specimen

Every build on this page uses a different type stack and a different ground colour, chosen for that business. That is what “never templated” means in practice — it is checkable, not a claim.

03 The result

  • A wellness site that reads as a specific place rather than a category.
  • The three questions a first-time visitor actually has are answered above the point where most people stop scrolling.
  • Light-ground design with contrast checked against WCAG AA, so the calm palette never costs legibility.

Terra is a concept build — our own work, not a client project. We invented the business and built the site properly, to the exact standard a paying client would get. We build sites like this for real businesses — see what we do for gyms & studios.
